Senior Systems Engineer (Flight Control)
The Role, Key Skills and Experience
AgustaWestland designs, develops and manufactures an unrivalled range of the most advanced helicopters, rotary wing technology, also developing mission and performance critical systems. Our helicopters are used extensively in civil and military roles worldwide. Primary operations are in the UK, Italy and the USA.
An exciting opportunity has arisen at AgustaWestland for a number of Senior System Engineers.
The successful candidates will be directly involved with the design of the latest generation of Advanced Flight Control Systems, developing a cutting edge Fly-By-Wire system for one of AgustaWestland’s newest aircraft – the AW149.
Duties will span the entire product life-cycle, from system design through to testing. Responsibilities will include managing one or more of the following:
- Generation of system specifications for flight control system design
- System safety analysis
- Control system generation and verification
- Systems integration and validation
- Certification activities
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- A degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering
- Experience in development of Fly-by-wire systems is essential
- Knowledge of System Architecture, Flight Control Computer design and Redundancy Management advantageous
- Knowledge of software and/or hardware engineering, including experience with digital electronics and/or real-time embedded software
- Experience working within aeronautical construction companies or with avionic systems
- Solid experience of technical project management and dedicated team management
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Familiarity with tools such as Matlab and Simulink, and requirement management tools (DOORS)
- Collaboration and influencing skills for working with a variety of internal and external customers
